Virtual Classrooms With Cisco's Digital Media System

At Bapatla Engineering College, students in Bangalore, India access by remote broadcast view lectures with on-demand video and other materials. They use Cisco's Digital Media System to extend the classroom environment. They are the first educational institute in India to adopt the Cisco solution for desktop video. " The college will stream live, sessions conducted by visiting professors and subject matter experts to the classrooms. Lectures can be viewed online in 15 classrooms and 40 'e-classrooms' simultaneously"  (News@Cisco).

"The Cisco Digital Media System will enable Baptala to also simultaneously record and archive classroom sessions. This will help students access classroom sessions at their convenience from any location. The archived classroom sessions are presented to the students via the Cisco Video Portal, a Web-based component of the Cisco Digital Media System that allows students to quickly browse, search, and view digital media interactively, as well as save favourite videos to their own customizable playlist. The Cisco Video Portal also allows administrators to link relevant documents for students to use and access along with each classroom video" (News@Cisco).
